Moving It Forward

This last week I had a joyous time teaching my Yarn Bomb Trees pattern at K &H Quilt Shoppe.  This is one of my favorite classes to teach.  All those scraps flying, the relaxed, laid back play that comes from improvisational piecing, and being with fellow quilters is a delight.  The scraps were definitely flying.  I little trading went one.
As the ladies sewed up their strata sets.
Then the real fun began as they cut into their background to make their trees.  Everyone got at least one done.  Some got several.  Another great thing about this class.  You see lots of results.
Lauren chose to do all black trees.  This inspired Angela.  By the time she left the class she had purchased a bunch of Halloween prints.  She is planning a fun, funky Halloween quilt with black trees.  I absolutely love how these ladies made the pattern their own.  Can't wait to see Angela's quilt.

Speaking of making it their own, Sue added this cute little bird to her tree.
Sue had made the quilt before, but because it is such a fun one, she chose to take the class to make another one.  Didn't her first quilt turn out great?!
So lots of moving forward for these ladies.  Now I'd love to see what you've been moving forward.  Link up and let us see and celebrate your progress.

  3. All these trees are adorable! It says a lot about your teaching when a student comes back to take a class again after already having a successful quilt. Kudos!

  8. The bird on the branch made me laugh! Black trees are too much like winter, I like the loud happy trees best.
