Moving It Forward

You may remember a few weeks ago I showed some wonky log cabin blocks.  Well, after making just over a dozen blocks I realized that I was running low on longer strips and I would not be able to make all the blocks I needed to make this a good throw size quilt for Quilty Hugs.  So I needed to come up an alternate plan.
I found if I made smaller free form pieced blocks with my smaller pieces I could turn them into stars and add a fun element to my quilt.  I'm toying with the idea of sashing between my blocks.  We'll see once I get more blocks done.

That's what I've been been moving forward.  Now it's your turn.  Link up and let us see what is happening in your sewing room this week  before Christmas.  Wow!  That went fast.  Looking forward to seeing your progress.

  1. You have a real eye for combining colours of your scraps. The stars are adding real flair to this collection.

  3. I love unplanned quilts and almost always have to change direction myself. For the same reason. Thank you for the linky party. Denise @fortheloveofgeese

  8. Isn't it great to have to puzzle through a creative problem like that, and end up with an even better quilt?
