Tender Mercies

I have a very full heart today. Have you ever heard the saying? "The Lord hears and answers our prayers but it is usually through the hands of another." I had that experience today. My day did not have the best of starts. Someone that has never liked me and has no qualms of letting that be known accosted me this morning. I've learned it is best just to walk away from this person. So while they yelled their hateful words at me I just turned and left. I called a friend for comfort which she willingly gave. Thank you dear friend.
Later when I went out to show my DD where I needed her to weed this morning I found this most wonderful package on my doorstep. Totally unexpected from my dear bloggy friend, Karen. How did you know dear friend that this would be the day that I would need this beautiful pick me up. Maybe this is why you have had so many postie blues lately. It was known that this package needed to make it's arrival on a different day. See all the beautiful fabric

And a fabulous pattern to go with it.

Thank you dear Karen for listening to that little voice that told you to do this most appreciated kindness. You have truly brightened my day.
Have you had a tender mercy recently? I would love for you to share it. It would help me so much to take my mind off the yucky that happened this morning.
Thanks,
Em

  1. Poor Em... Some people are just nasty, and yes it is best to walk away, to be the bigger person... How wonderful for the pick me ups in your day...

When life (2010) gets too overwhelming for me, my friend Wendy senses it, a pops in for a much appreciated visit, sometimes with a plant/flowers... I can always count on her lifting my spirits... 8-)

For some reason your photos are not showing Em, so I can't comment on it... 8-(

  3. Some people are so miserable and feel they have to make everyone else the same as they are. I'm glad you walked away and did not give her the satisfaction she was looking for.

What a perfect pick-me-up!!!! Perfect timing too.

  6. Once many years ago I was feeling very sad about all the hard things I had been given to face in life - thoroughly down in the dumps and thinking this just can't get any worse when I fell flat on my face in slippery mud. I was crying as I sat at the computer to look for words of solace when an email popped up, from Friends Reunited telling me that a very special friend I had been looking for for over twenty years had found me. Life was turned right around. I hope you feel the same.

  7. Wow, Em! I don't get people like that. Sorry you had to deal with it. Thank goodness for Karen and her generosity. I am also grateful for a Heavenly Father who knows who I am and that he loves me. What a comfort that brings.

  10. Em I haven't had to deal with anyone like that since I worked for a living - and I'm sorry that you have to deal with anyone who is so very sad themselves that they have to take it out on others. I learned a long time ago that even though I was hurt by their actions it was really about them and not about me that they were so unkind. I'm in love with your Grandma quilt - the boy and the girl are both darling and I'd love to make one! Are you selling the pattern? blessings, marlene

  11. My Mom would always call them test for us. To see if we were the bigger person. I know from being in business you have to just give it to Him and not worry. So glad Karen heard His calling.
