When my A earned his Eagle Scout I make him a quilt. Recently J earned his so I am working on a quilt for him. I sketched up a design. I pulled out all the red, cream and blue scraps out of my scrap bag and made these log cabin blocks. I started a needle punch eagle for the center. It is my first needle punch so if it doesn't turn out I'll embroider one. Stay tuned to see how this evolves.I also washed the quilt on DD bed. Here it is hanging to dry. Yes I need a clothes line. I put that on my hubby's to do list. Hopefully he will get to it one day soon.

  1. Congratulations J! Well done on achieving your Eagle Scout. A quilt seems a suitable reward.

Definitely need a clothesline. They have the kind that lift out from the wall so you won't mess up your yard...

Love the quilt. Very feminine (and clean)

  2. Wow - how exciting! I love the arrangement of your log cabin blocks - there are so many things you could do with that.

You do need a clothesline - so do I. Maybe we'll get together and put one up at your house and then head to my house and put up another - surely between the two of us we could manage it! :)

  4. looks like you found a workable solution to the lack of clothesline! I always love how quilts smell all washed up and air dried before going back on a bed :-)

  5. I kind of like how a kid's quilt looks drying on the swing set! You have lucky kids.

  12. What a great way of commemorating your sons' awards.

My Grandmother would drap things on bushes if she ran out of washing line -especially things like the sage bush as it gave a little of the scent to her washing.

  13. Well I'm excited and staying tuned in for what is to come.

Love seeing quilts hanging one a clothes line. One of my favorite forms of display to tell you the truth. I don't have one. A clothesline or a DH. Frugal living? hee. No. Just my path. I could however ask my friends or neighbor to help with the clotheslines but asking for help is such a challenge for me.
