Happy Trails

Here is what I came up with. What do you think? I am calling it Happy Trails. The fabrics are so fun. I'm not quite sure what to do for the stop border. I found the scrap that is in there but I think it might be to bright. I might go with the pink that is in the brown and blue fabric or the orange that is in the strip and paisley. Please give me your input. Then I will do a drunkard's path as the outher border. Once again, I would appreciate your feedback. Have a great day! Happy Sewing!

  1. I would use the pink but then I am a "pink" kind of gal! Interesting design...first I thought it was bow ties and then I looked closer and realized it wasn't!

  2. I can't tell about the border without seeing a photo of what it would look like (just a piece of fabric laid along one edge). Those are so tricky -- often the one I plan to use doesn't work at all!

  3. I am always partial to pink, so you know what my vote will be. I have a drunkard's path quilt that I named Happy Trails, for two reasons. One...I like the sound of happy trails more than drunkard's path, lol. Secondly, I used fabric that reminds me of the fabrics that you used to see alot on cowboy shirts and that made me think of Roy Rogers and of course, I could hear Roy and Dale singing Happy Trails to You in the depth of my mind..so Happy Trails it became.

  4. Your quilt islooking really sweet. I love the colors and the pattern. Can't wait to see it when you get the drunkard's path border on. But I'm not sure what to use for the outline border. Maybe a solid that matches one of the prints.

  5. what about going with a green that would coordinate with what's there, without replicating anything?

  10. Hi Em, thank you for your kind comment. I love what you have done with Happy Trails. I would need to see a photo of the fabrics laid next to the quilt, before I made a decision. Regards Lyn
