Quilty Hug Finish

This Tuesday was a first Tuesday so that means we enjoyed a sew in at my home making quilty hugs for cancer patients. We had a good turn out and got a lot done. One top completed and two more are real close. I had two quilts basted from the last sew in that I hadn't  got quilted yet. To keep from getting too far behind I got busy Wednesday and finished quilting and binding this one.
It was made from a stack of donated orphan blocks. We added a variety of black and white print fabric around each block to make them all the same size. Then added a red dotty sashing with more black and white print cornerstones. I quilted it with a large stipple.  My go to when I'm in a hurry.
Then bond it all with a black print with small white squares.
It should make a nice quilty hug.

Going to try. (I'm away this weekend with friends and not real tech savy,) So if I can figure it out I will link up with Sarah and Amanda Jean.

  1. That is really pretty. Great variety of blocks and wonderful colorway. I am sure it will be appreciated.

  2. Ahhh, a "Newspaper Quilt" that's Black and White and Read all over, LOL! At least that was the punny joke when I was a kid. The quilt is wonderful and it went together so quickly, too!
