WAGI~ Scrappy Slippers

Welcome to another WAGI Wednesday.  When I found this fun scrappy slippers I feel instantly in love.  Two of my favorites, slippers and scraps, combined to make one spectacular gift.  If, like me you are a lover of slippers and scraps you might want to make a pair or two.  You can find the tutorial here.  It's in Spanish but thanks to technology it's easy to translate it.  Your kids will love them, not to mention your quilty friends.  Wouldn't you all looks so cute at your next retreat?
Now for a recipe.  For me Thanksgiving would not be Thanksgiving without my mom's cranberry bread.  I love the stuff.  I could eat a whole loaf.  I look forward every year to when cranberries show up at the grocery store so I can make it.  I even by a couple of bags to go in the freezer for times when I need a little comfort food. So without further ado a family treasure...

Cranberry Bread
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup orange juice
1 Tbs orange zest
2 Tbs water
2 Tbs melted butter
1/2 cup cranberries
1/2 chopped nuts
Beat egg and sugar together.  Add sifted flour, soda, baking powder, and salt.  Add orange juice, zest, butter, and water.  Fold in cranberries and nuts. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake 350* for an hour or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
