What I Learned

I had so much fun with my aunt last week.  It was a nice get away and I learned a lot in my classes.  The first class I took was Hopscotch taught by Sheri of A Quilting Life.  It was nice to meet Sheri in person.  I've read her blog for quite a while.  She is a very talented lady and a great teacher.  I'm thrilled with how my quilt is coming along.  I've got almost three rows done.
Next I took an embellishment class from Kerry Green of Kerry Stitch Designs.  I wish this class could have gone on and on.  Kerry is such a wealth of knowledge.  Her designs are so inspiring.  This little sampler was what I was able to accomplish in class.  I came home wanting to do more.  I've visited my library's website and put a hold on a bunch of embroidery books.  The wheels in my mind are turning with ideas to add these cute little stitches to my quilts.

Finally, Mary Lou Blaser taught a sock monkey class she shared her pattern with me.  Her class was full and I didn't get to take it.  But she told me there was a You Tube video that would walk me through it.  When I told DD she couldn't wait to make one.  So within hours of being home we made this little guy.
My only finish from the retreat and it wasn't even finished there.  But I learned a lot, was inspired to do so much more, and can't wait to put my new knowledge to good use.
