Wild Goose Chase Block 3

Welcome to this Wednesday's Wild Goose Chase .  I hope you are enjoying the chase.  Today's block has our geese chasing each other around an empty background square.  I'm sure it has a name but I don't know what it is.  If you do, please let me know, I'd love to know what it is.  First an overview of all the steps.
Next making the geese.  Choose your method and use 2 1/2" strips for both.  You will need 16 geese total.
If you are not using the Nifty Notions ruler cut
16- 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangles geese fabric
32- 2 1/2" squares sky fabric
Draw your diagonal line through your 2 1/2" square sky fabrics.

Place your sky and geese fabric right sides together and stitch on the line you drew.

Trim your seam allowance and press open.

Place the another sky fabric on the other side of your geese fabric and sew on line.

Trim seam allowance and press open.  Repeat with remaining geese pieces.

If using the Nifty Notions Rulers cut
16- Quarter square triangles from your geese fabric
32- half square triangles from your sky fabric

With right sides together sew one of your half square triangles to one side of one your geese triangles

Press open and repeat process on opposite side.

Press open. Repeat with remaining triangles

Sew your triangles into sets of two.

Cut a 4 1/2" square of sky fabric and arrange your geese around it to form a nine patch.

Sew these into 3-rows of 3-blocks

Sew your blocks together.

Enjoy your block!
