String me Along

Since I had already made more than a dozen of Jacquie's fun hearts I worked on some more string blocks at quilt guild. I added those to the ones I had made here, made a few more at home and this is the result.
I just need to baste, quilt and bind it now. It measures 60"x 70", the perfect size for snuggling under while reading a good book or watching tv.
I had so much fun making these blocks as I put a dent in my 2 1/2" and 2" strip drawers. Remembering all the quilts I had made from these leftover scraps of fabric. Thank you Stephanie for your joyous no strings challenge. Posted by Picasa

Thats really bright and colourful. I've enjoyed the trip down memory lane as I used my own scraps.

Love all of the strip quilts! It is so nice to make a dent in those scraps too.

That dragon quilt is amazing! I think the marshmallow eating dragon has the right idea. It's a great way to roast a mallow.

I really love string quilts! It's so much fun to check out the variety of fabrics and see the designs that form as you look at the whole thing. As you say, when you get to use your own scraps up and relive the making of other quilts, it's just that much better.

Hi Em,

I'm loving your string quilt. It's beautiful! I made two last year and I think they have loads of personality.

Love your string quilt! But did it really put a dent in your scrap drawers? I am making one too, but I seem to have more scraps now than before I started!

I made a couple of string quilts several years ago that I gave away to friends. I'm so glad you wrote this because I'm reminded of how much fun they were to make and of how many scraps I have just waiting to be used up! blessings, marlene
