Me and a Funny Story

In my quilt guild we are suppose to wear name tags. If you forget yours you are to put a quarter in a jar. I've been going to my guild for ten years now and never made a name tag. I just brought a quarter each month. But a few months ago Sue was wearing the cutest name tag. We all fell in love with it. She was kind enough to share the pattern. She even took time before one of the meetings to help people make one. I traced the pattern then but not until yesterday did I finally get around to making it. Don't you just love this sweet little sewing machine? Now here is a story that just might put a smile on your face. My DD and Grandma thought it was pretty funny. The other morning I rolled out of bed a 5 a.m. I got dressed in the dark like I always do. (Don't want to wake my dear hubby.) And went to the gym. I ran 4 miles on the elliptical. Came home fixed lunches for the kids and got in the shower. Only after everyone was gone for the day and I was cleaning up the bathroom did I realize I had gone to the gym with two different shoes. One pink and one blue.
Hope your shoes match and that you have a great day!
Em

  1. LOL! I did that before! I went to church with one white shoe and one cream shoe. Probably not as noticable as your but I wanted to die when I noticed during the first hour.

Cute nametag! I think it is pretty funny that you just brought a quarter every month to avoid wearing a name tag.

  2. Funny! I wonder what they were thinking at the gym!

Cute nametag. Do most people have fabric nametags?

  5. did the shoe thing one time when I was a principal...the secretary and I laughed and put it on the daily bulletin that it was crazy shoe day and we hoped everyone remembered....the number of people that said they "forgot" was astounding....

  7. That is a cute story about the shoes. A real fashion statement, I would say. You will probably see a lot more of it when you go to the gym.
Yes, that is a cute name tag. The guild I used to belong to had the same quarter policy.

  13. Hi Em! Love the name mini-quilt! What a great idea! Might have to try it - much better than plastic sleeves with cardboard!

At the gym no one cares what you wear. I wore my slippers to work once - and all the patients thought it was a hoot! Good thing our sense of humour is healthy and intact!

  15. Hi Em,
I have not done that but I have had a friend go to a Christmas party with one black and one navy dress shoe and discover while she was in line at the restuarant. She couldn't figure out why her shoes felt funny- one heel was higher than the other!!!
It made for pretty uncomfortable dancing until she kicked her shoes off!LOL

  17. I checked my feet, so far so good! Very cute nametag. My guild has the same policy, but they give us a laminated one and a pattern for a quilted one. I think they chose an ugly pattern and ugly colors, so I just wear the laminated one!
