I went without sashing when I sewed my blocks together. I might make another set of blocks and put sashing with them. I really enjoyed the mindless sewing involved this this quilt and, I have plenty of scraps. I have a Ziploc bag that is full of left over bits of binding. I took out all the green bits. Cut them in half lengthwise and sewed them together. I found that made a nice width for a vine. As you can see I didn't quite have enough to go all the way around the quilt. So I'll be making a little more from scraps in the bin. I need to adjust my vine in a few places but I am liking it. It will give me some hand work to do while I wait in the Dr. office tomorrow.

the applique vine adds a real sense of "old fashioned" to me, I really like its effect with the scrap blocks....

It looks great without sashing. I was one who said sashing, but It looks terrific. Going with your gut instinct paid off. I hope all goes well with you at the doctor's office.

The quilt looks great. Why don't you fill the space between the ends of the vine with some flowers?

I love it! You've put it together so nicely, and it looks just like something that ought to be on an antique bed.
