Baking Bug Bit

The Baking bug bit me this weekend and he bit hard. I made cookies. Which are all gone. Doesn't take long for those to disappear at our house. Does anyone else have that problem? I made a cake. As you can see it is fast disappearing also. I made cornmeal muffins and dinner rolls.

I also made granola. My kids love this for breakfast. I like that it's cheap to make and fills them up.
Now you know what I did this weekend. What did you do?

  1. Em I visited earily today and I'm happy about that.I have banana nut and cramberry orange bread in the oven, thanks for the idea. What I really needed was the color of the berries and orange and of course the smell is heaven.I took a class from a quilter named Carol and she said to turn all the lights on and sew with the brightest fabric you have in the winter it helps to brighten up your day.Thank you Em, my Monday is better already. :>)

  4. That's a lot of baking! I'm trying really hard not to bake. My kids have this idea that they can have dessert after every meal! So i'm trying to cut the sugar addiction for them and me :) As soon as I get blogger to upload - i will show you what I did this weekend!

  5. I can not tempt myself with baking yet..maybe in a month. I miss it so much.

I relaxed with fabric and machine and did some organizational cleaning...had to be done since I went back to work.

  8. Nothing like splashing flour around to brighten up the winter kitchen. It all looks too yummy. Warm and cozy. The smell of baking bread just has to be one of the best ever...

  10. I am so much more of a baker than someone who makes great meals. So I totally understand that the Baking Bug Bit. Unfortunately, baked goods are my downfall. I love them, but I would be better off just rubbing them on my thighs, because that is where they end up anyway. This weekend I spent quilting a customers quilt, grocery shopping, running errands and making 4 project improv blocks.

  12. My family wishes that I had done more baking this weekend, lol. I did get one chocolate pound cake made, which was devoured at Sunday lunch. My grandkids think cake has to have icing, so I bought some of that squirt on icing for cupcakes - wow was that a hit. Even the big kids had to have icing on their cake. It was fun and they all enjoyed decorating their cake. I had quilt club meeting this weekend, and a trip to my LQS - now that was the icing on my cake.
