With all my cleaning I found a lot of scraps. My scrap bag overflowth. I decided to try something I learned from Nanette. She said she makes minis of her quilts before she makes the full sized one. I figured it would kill two birds with one stone. I would get a preview of my quilt and use up some scraps. So I cut up some strips.
Sewed them together, and cut them into little rail fences.
When there where little bits left over I made little nine patches.
Then I sewed the rail fences together to make this little table runner. I am planning to applique in the border. So look forward to seeing this little guy again.

  13. Well thank you Emily. How sweet to find me in your post! If I followed my own advice I would have avoided a few of my not so favorite quilts. But I like doing that. Then I know if I really want to take on the whole thing and get fabric to make it, too. Plus who doesn't love mini quilts? They are fun. My scraps are growing. I gotta do something about that.

  18. Cute! But if you make the mini BEFORE you make the quilt, it must be in different fabrics? Is that right?
